SOCIAL PROGRAM

We look forward to welcoming you to Umeå Univeristy as well as the City of Umeå. Below you'll find a list of social activities planned during the conference as well as suggestions of other things to do during your stay in Umeå.  

WELCOME RECEPTION   -  Monday, August 24th 18.00 

The wecome reception will be held at Västerbottens Museum. The Museum is located just a 20 minute walk from Umeå University and is also easily accessible by bus. 

The reception starts at 18.00 at the main buildings entrance. The Museum also has a large outdoor open area, and the reception will take place both inside and outside so please dress accordingly, attire is casual. At the reception desk you'll find maps and information about the activites on-site. 

The Umeå Salsa Club will also be on-site during the reception and between 18.00 - 19.00 you are welcome to learn more and try out your salsa dancing skills!

Food Stations:
Upon arrival thin bread with reindeer meat and lingon drink will be served in the main building. 
Learn more about Sami cultural traditions at the ''Samiska visten'' where meat soup is served. 
Visit the bakers cottage to have a taste and see traditional Swedish thin bread in the making.
Lastly, coffee, tea and cloudberry cake will be served in the Museum Cafe.

Alternative options will be available for those of you who listed other dietary needs (such as vegetarian/lactos free) during the registration process.  

Please note: This is a reception with tasting portions and not a full dinner. Alcohol is neither served nor available for purchase on-site.

ACTIVITIES  & DINNER   -  Tuesday, August 25th 

After the conference on Tuesday, attendees will have the option of participating in different activites and dinner. During the registration process you will be able to add an activity and choose to attend dinner at an added expense.
