Welcome to the first Bi-Annual Meeting of the Swedish Development Research Network (SweDev). The purpose of SweDev is to facilitate interaction between researchers, lecturers and students in the field of development research and to provide a forum for cultivating contacts between researchers and practitioners.
The network is open to both “institutions” (university departments, research groups, other units) and “individual researchers” within the established field of development research/studies as well as other disciplines focusing on development problems.
SweDev originates from a meeting at the Development Research Conference (DevRes) held in Gothenburg in 2018, and a Steering Committee was created in 2019 with representation from a broad variety of research environments. The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) is hosting the network.
At the meeting during DevRes 2020 in Umeå, the Steering Committee will account for its work so far and a Nomination Committee will propose new members to the Steering Committee and possible amendments to the governance procedures of the Network. Another main issue on the agenda is the work plan for the next two years.
Anyone interested in the activities of the network are welcome to participate at the bi-annual meeting. For more information about the meeting or the Network contact anyone serving on the Steering Committee:
